MY LIFE AS A MOM

Everywhere we go we get crowded by people and asked so many questions. Mostly people are just curious and want to see Brody and Jackson. It doesn't take long before they realize Bella and Carter are twins too. This usually causes quite a scene and the news spreads quickly. There have been a few occasions that have made Bella and Carter nervous but usually people are just curious and friendly.
Once while we were at the hospital for the boys hip ultrasounds there were about 25 people crowded around us at D&D. I just wanted a coffee. Bella was NOT happy. She still doesn't understand why people are so facinated. Questions and comments were flying and as I tried to keep up with answers I realized it was just making the group larger. As people walked by they were stopping to see what the big fuss was all about. I swear twins are like magnets.
One time at IHOP we were seated as far away from the bathrooms as possible. Our waitress was in shock by our 2 sets of twins that she started telling other waitresses. Soon there were 3 just looking at all of us. My mom was with us with added to the chaos. Soon there were several eyes on us. Soon I needed to change the babies. As I walked through the crowded resteraunt I was stopped at 3 tables on the way. Asking if Brody was one the the twins and what si was like having two sets, etc. The typical questions. Well as I talked nearby table heard and on my next trip to the bathroom with Jackson I was stopped by a few more people.
It's just crazy! Sometimes I think it is why I don't go out oo much with all 4 kids. It's like having a spotlight on you. We have gone out to dinner as a family of 6 3 times now. Each time they have sit us at the huge table in the middle of everyone. Everyone watches everything we do. Some with wonder in their eyes, others with compasssion, some with pity and there are the ones who watch just to see how we do it. I swear people go to the bathroom just so they can walk by us and stop to see the kids and ask questions.
Everyone is curious, everyone has questions and everyone reacts differently. Some just come up and stare without saying a word. Some will yell across a room. Some come up quitely and make nice comments and move on. Others just come up and start touching and asking all kinds of questions. People either think we are blessed or cursed and aren't afriad to tell you which way they feel.

There are so many more. Some are more personal, some are just informational, some are funny, some are rude and some just make me speechless. I always try to be nice even when the questions are dumb or rude. I really don't think people understand how common twins are. They act like we are a sideshow act at the circus. I think it's pretty funny most of the time. We always have good stories to talk about on the way home from anywhere we go. It's an adventure for sure but it's the best one I have ever been on.
